Athelhampton for School Visits
Athelhampton is the ideal venue for your educational visit. The historic Tudor Manor with over 20 rooms open to the public and surrounded by award-winning formal gardens provides a fabulous opportunity to support and enrich your in-school learning.

Schools have been visiting Athelhampton for over 25 years. The House has a rich history, starting with Saxon times, through turbulent Tudor England, the Glorious Revolution, a Victorian restoration, and more..

The Gardens contain four walled formal gardens, each with its unique planting style, before opening up to long avenues, walks, a rose garden, less formal areas and a productive kitchen garden and glasshouse.

We offer the opportunity to support KS1 / KS2 learning on how people lived, worked and survived in Tudor, & Elizabethan England at differing levels of social standing.

New for 2025 we are developing horticulture-based educational days.

Our School Rate is £192 for the first 24 children and £8 for each additional child. Teachers, teaching assistants and Chaperones are not charged for and should, at the minimum be 1 person per 8 children.

Your visit includes a room to use as a base camp and for lunches, printed educational material and a member our historical or horticultural team.
